Jenks High School is known for a lot of things, but did you know their FFA program is thriving as well? Just ask Jenks junior Juliana Borchers, who also plays varsity volleyball for the Lady Trojans.

“I first joined FFA in eighth-grade,” said Borchers. “I chose to myself, picking my schedule for eighth grade, ag sounded like a fun class.”

For Borchers, being part of the FFA chapter is more than just showing livestock.

“What I enjoy is working in the shop and the all-around environment. I am currently on the Mechanics Team,” said Borchers.

The junior said anyone interested in volleyball should give it a try.

“There are so many fun opportunities within FFA,” said Borchers.

As for the volleyball team, Borchers said she is proud to play with such an amazing group of girls.

“Everyone is nice, and we all get along so well. the team itself is competitive and we all have a gold ball mentality. It’s an amazing group of girls I get to be with every day,” said Borchers.

After she graduates from high school, Borchers said she plans on attending college and continue playing volleyball. Borchers said she is thankful for the support her family gives and the encouragement she receives from her father.

“My Dad is supportive of everything I do. He’s always so encouraging and give good advice,” said Borchers.
