Athletes and coaches invest a lot of time and effort so that when they step out to compete, they are ready to play their best. In some cases, all that hard work pays off in the form of some hardware that goes in the trophy case. Landry Fieker says that her favorite memory of competing was when she and her teammates were able to add a piece to the trophy case.
“I’d have to say the highlight moment of my career was winning the 2023 Oklahoma Class 6A girls soccer State Championship my sophomore year,” she stated. “I will never forget the ref blowing the final
whistle and running with my teammates to the far corner of the field by the scoreboard to dogpile.
Definitely one of my happiest memories and I’m so thankful I got to experience it with those girls.”
Fieker is a junior at Jenks High School, where she is a member of the soccer team. She is also involved in Drug Free Youth, student council, and the National Honor Society.
Becoming the player that she is today has taken work, but Fieker says that she would not have been able to do it without those people around her.
“I wouldn’t be able to be successful in anything without my huge support system of my family, friends, teammates, coaches and God,” she said. “That and training every day to become a better player, as well as lots of self evaluation and mental preparation is what it takes for me to be successful.”
Wearing the Trojan uniform is something that Landry is proud to be able to do.
“To represent my school and community when I play means to honor my school and community when I play,” Landry said. “It’s such an honor to be able to be a part of something with the amazing people around me doing the same. My dad always says ‘everyone wants two things: to be a part of something, and to have influence’. And I believe that wholeheartedly. I’m so thankful to be a part of this team at Jenks and so honored to be able to have influence at school and in the community by helping us win.
