Kickin’ It Around With Jenks’ Alisa Bun – Presented by BancFirst Jenks

Most athletes will tell you that there is a lot that is required in order to be the best that you can be. And it is more than just showing up on game day and competing. Jenks’ Alisa Bunn says that you have to be dedicated in order to be your best.

“It’s taken a lot of extra work to get where I am today,” she said. “Whether it’s working on my speed, my technical skills, or my shot, it takes more work outside of the required practices and includes making lots of sacrifices socially.”

A junior, Bunn is a center mid and outside forward for the Trojans soccer team. She is playing in her twelfth season of soccer and says that over that time she has made a lot of great memories, both on and off the field. Out of all of them, she says that there is one that stands out as her favorite.

“I would have to say that the highlight of my career would probably be winning the Deer Creek Tournament during my sophomore year,” she stated. “It was a lot of fun and we all played really well. Winning that tournament will always be a great memory.”

While she has put in a lot of hard work to get where she is, Alisa says that she has had people that have been there for her and helped her along the way and there is one person in particular.

“My mom has always been my biggest role model from the beginning,” she said. “She has worked with me not only on the field but off the field as well. She taught me to be strong, have courage, and to be the best version of myself.”

Along with playing soccer, Alisa is also involved with clubs and groups around campus. She is a member of the Spanish Club, Spanish Honor Society, and the Family, Career and Community Leaders of America program. She carries a 4.0 GPA and has been on the Superintendent’s Honor Roll every year of high school.
