Jack Franklin was recently named the 2023-24 Gatorade Oklahoma Boys Soccer Player of the Year. Franklin is the eighth Gatorade Oklahoma Boys Soccer Player of the Year to be chosen from Jenks High School. [Franklin pictured here wearing the blue No. 24]
The 6-foot-2, 200-pound senior goalkeeper led the Trojans to a 14-4 record and a second-straight Class 6A state championship this past season. Franklin conceded eight goals and recorded 10 shutouts in addition to being the winning keeper in shootouts in both the state quarterfinals and the state championship game. A Class 6A First Team All-State selection, he also contributed three assists through his distribution from the back.
Franklin joins recent Gatorade Oklahoma Boys Soccer Players of the Year Federico Palacios (2022-23, Northwest Classen High School), Will Applegate (2021-22, Bishop Kelley High School), Isaias Silva (2020-21, Mustang High School) and Will Edwards (2019-20, Jenks High School), among the state’s list of former award winners.
As part of Gatorade’s commitment to breaking down barriers in sport, every Player of the Year also receives a grant to donate to a social impact partner. To date, the Gatorade Player of the Year program has provided more than $4.9 million in grants to winners across more than 1,900 organizations.
