Laura Tibbett plays an important part in the Jenks High School baseball program.
Tibbett, the mother of Trojans’ senior captain Logan Tibbett, is the Jenks High School baseball Senior Grade Representative and Vice President of the Booster Club. She’s a former manager of her daughter’s competitive soccer team.
“I think it’s important for parents to have a voice,” Laura said. “The best way to be heard in a high school sports program is to be involved. It takes a lot of hands to run a high school baseball program, and parent involvement is so important.”
Laura likes to be involved because she wants to make an impact on student-athletes’ lives.
“I love the kids,” she said. “I hope that what I am doing is making a small impact on their life within this sports program. I want them to look back on this time with fond memories.”
Laura is also the mother of current University of Arkansas sophomore Megan Tibbett, who competed in track during her time at Jenks. Her oldest daughter, McKenzie, is married.
The Tibbetts are passionate about sports, even during their free time.
“We are a pretty sports-minded family, so we watch a lot of sports together and go to local sporting events,” Laura said. “ We also love to cook out in the backyard as a family.”
