Playing varsity baseball at Jenks High School is more than just stepping onto the diamond Mason Goss. It’s about representing a community that has shaped his life.
“I’ve been at Jenks all my life so this school has meant a lot to me,” Goss said. “Some of the best people I have met have been from Jenks.”

The left fielder for the Trojans has found his niche patrolling the outfield, where split-second decisions and athletic plays define success. Diving for fly balls at full speed tests both his courage and skill.
“The toughest thing is whenever you have to dive for a ball while running at top speed,” Goss said. “Making that catch is definitely one of the best feelings when playing baseball.”
While Goss prides himself on his defensive abilities and strong throwing arm, he continues refining his approach at the plate, focusing on quality at-bats to become a more complete player.

Beyond individual performance, Goss emphasized the team chemistry that makes this season special. The Trojans have built something unique through their off-season work.
“The culture and bond we have is special making this team fun to be around,” Goss said. “We have improved a lot over the off season and there is a lot of excitement for the upcoming season.”
That excitement is shared among teammates like Jack Tiefenthaler, whom Goss identified as the team’s most vocal leader.
Off the field, Goss stays busy with Student Council, Drug Free Youth, National Honor Society and Fellowship of Christian Athletes. When baseball allows free time, he enjoys golfing, attending church and spending weekends at the lake with friends.

Baseball has taught Goss valuable life lessons that extend beyond the sport.
“Throughout baseball I have learned a lot of skills specifically including leadership, teamwork, discipline, time management and sportsmanship,” Goss said. “I feel baseball has really helped prepare me for the future.”
His father remains his biggest inspiration, serving as both role model and motivator.
“My dad, he has always been a great role model for me and pushes me to be successful every day,” Goss said.
As the Trojans prepare for their season, Goss represents the dedication and character that define Jenks baseball — a student-athlete committed to excellence both on the field and in the classroom.
