Machelle Rodman spent the past 11 years at Jenks High School softball games cheering for her daughters and supporting the team.
“What I love and value most is being with them and sharing all their special moments. The wins and losses, every moment has been priceless. The time we’ve shared together over the years is truly invaluable and the memories we’ve made will always stay with me.”
All three of her daughters played softball for JHS.
“The Jenks softball program, along with its incredible coaches, gave my daughters the skills and experiences they needed to be successful both on and off the field,” said Machelle.
Her oldest daughter went on to play four years of college ball and is now working toward a doctoral degree. Her second daughter is currently in her third year of college softball at FLC in Durango, Colorado. Machelle’s youngest daughter is still in high school, making plans to play college softball herself.
“I couldn’t be prouder of the women they’ve become. I know without a doubt that the lessons they learned here at Jenks played a big role in shaping their journeys,” she said.
Machelle shares simple yet valuable advice to up-and-coming JHS softball girls.
“Believe in your abilities and always support your teammates, keeping a positive attitude even during tough times. Softball is about teamwork, resilience and growing together.”
She also has these words of wisdom for young parents.
“Support and invest yourself in your kids. Be there for the small moments as well as the big ones. The time and love you pour into their passions not only helps them grow but also builds a bond that lasts a lifetime.”
Machelle has served as a booster club member and held several positions on the board.
“It’s been an honor to be part of the program and to share in the growth and achievements of so many amazing young people. I am grateful for the opportunity to support my children and their teams over the years. I also want to thank the coaches, students and volunteers who help to support the program and make these experiences possible.”
