VYPE: Josie, what grade are you in and what position do you play for the Jenks softball team?
Josie Jervis: I’m a senior and I play 1st and 3rd base, I also played outfield my freshman and sophomore year.
VYPE: When did you first start playing softball?
JJ: I first started playing softball when I was six years old. I’ve grown up with the game, starting in T-ball and playing ever since.
VYPE: What’s been your biggest surprise this season?
JJ: My biggest surprise this season has been the feeling of being a senior. Stepping into a leadership role and connecting with my teammates on a whole new level has been such a game changer. It’s made this one of the most fun and memorable seasons I’ve had at Jenks.
VYPE: What do you love most about your team and teammates at Jenks?
JJ: My teammates at Jenks have gotten so close this past year, especially us seniors. After five years of playing together, we’ve helped each other grow not just in softball, but in life. They’re truly my best friends.
VYPE: Who inspires you?
JJ: The person who inspires me most is my mom. She’s the hardest-working, kindest, and most selfless person I know.
VYPE: Favorite subject in school and favorite teacher from any grade?
JJ: My favorite subject in school is math, my favorite teacher would be Mr. McGee.
VYPE: What do you enjoy doing in your free time?
JJ: I love to go shopping, visit my family, and just be at home.
VYPE: What would you like to do after you graduate?
JJ: I am going to the University of Arkansas Tech to further my athletic and academic career. My plan is to get a degree in psychology.
