Senior volleyball player Izzy Hinds started playing the sport when she was only 10 years old. Now a setter for the varsity team at Jenks High School, Hinds said she loves the friendships she has made through her years of play with the Trojans.
“I love the friendships that I have made on this team, I have been friends with most of these girls since my freshman year. I also love how hard working they are and encouraging on and off the court,” said Hinds.
Inspired by her parents, Hinds said their work ethic pushes her to do her best in every practice and match.
“My mom and dad, they have been such great examples to me my entire life. They have taught me to work hard in every aspect in life, and if you are going to do something you better give it everything you got,” said Hinds.
Hinds is enrolled in a course at Huntington Learning Center for ACT prep, but her favorite subject in school is English.
“I love English, and the reason that I love it so much is because of my English teacher I had my sophomore year and now my senior year: Mr. McCown,” Hinds said. “I really like the teachers at Huntington and the one-on-one learning environment that they have.”
One day Hinds hopes to become a physician’s assistant.
In her free time, Hinds said she enjoys sports and family.
“I love playing volleyball, and spending time with friends and family,” said Hinds.
