VYPE: Sam, you’re finally in your senior season, what grade did you start playing football?
Sam Stone: I have played since 3rd grade.
VYPE: You’ve played in a lot of big games, what is your favorite memory as a Jenks Trojan?
SS: My favorite memory is beating Bixby my sophomore year.
VYPE: What positions are you playing this year?
SS: I am playing linebacker and wide receiver.
VYPE: What makes being a Trojan special to you?
SS: JHS is a great place to be a student-athlete because of the top tier facilities, coaches that we hire, and the support from the community and student body.
VYPE: Which teammate keeps everyone laughing and who is the most serious?
SS: Kayleb Barnett always has me laughing, most serious is probably Semaj Stanford.
VYPE: How do you mentally prepare yourself for a game?
SS: I mentally prepare by taking time to visualize plays and what I will do in the game.
VYPE: Do you have a favorite subject in school or a favorite teacher?
SS: My favorite subject right now is AP Statistics, favorite teacher at the high school is Mr. Olsen.
VYPE: What’s the best advice you’ve ever been given?
SS: The best advice I’ve ever received is that pain is inevitable, you either feel it during practice, or during games, but it is your choice.
VYPE: What’s the plan for life after high school?
SS: My goal is to go play college football and eventually start on a college football roster while earning a degree.
