The Trojans and their Trojan faithful are used to winning the gold ball. It’s the standard at
Jenks High School for all sports. Head coach Keith Riggs has led the Trojans to the state
finals in Class 6AI five times in the last six seasons. Their last title came in 2021, going back-
to-back in ’20 and ’21.
This season the Trojans introduced a couple of new faces to the lineup, Owen Jones and KD
Jones, and their contributions to the team were incredible. Program kids like Sam Stone,
Hudson Ball, Jett Calmus, and Ayden Christiansen also made immeasurable contributions in
a season that witnessed the Trojans drop a few games to opponents the Trojans would
normally beat. The season was not without highlights. Two wins over rival Union was big.
It doesn’t happen often that you beat your rival twice in one season.
But that did not stop the resilience of this team. Guys like Semaj Stanford stepped up and
made play after play as a true freshman. Stone had an 80-yard interception return for a
touchdown against Bixby in the finals. KD Jones was big as well scoring on the ground and
through the air.
Another bright spot for the Trojans this season was kicker Jack Franklin. The senior proved
he is one of the best to ever kick for the Trojans.
Jenks will graduate the likes of Jett Calmus Jack Franklin, Illias Cooper, Simian Gilkey,
Landon Corwin, Ayden Christiansen, Kade Hodges, Eliott Atyia, Gavin Kirby, and others, but
return a solid nucleus of starters.
