3 Must See District Games for the Trojans Presented by Woodland West Pet Resort

3 Must See District Games for the Trojans
These three district games are crucial if the Trojans are going to win a district title going
into the playoffs.

AT NORMAN NORTH – OCT 5 th

3 On October 5 th the Trojans travel to Norman to take on the Norman North

Timberwolves. Last season the Timberwolves won the game, 31-21 over Jenks by putting
point on the board in all four quarters and blanking the Trojans in the 4 th .
The Timberwolves will feature a passing game that loves to spread the ball around the
field. Quarterback Owen Eshelman (Jr.) saw some action last year, but takes over a team
with an experienced receiver corps. They also feature one of the top linemen in Harrison
Utley (Sr.) who leads a talented group up front.
Something to take note of is the Timberwolves defense, which returns most of their
starters from last season including Isaac Morgan and Finn Smith up front.

VS MOORE – OCT 13TH

2 Following the Norman North game, the Trojans host Moore at home for homecoming.

Last season the Trojans went on the road to Moore and won a close one, 49-41 in
somewhat of a shootout. Granted, the Trojans were battling injuries and had just lost to
Norman North, but don’t take Moore lightly.
The Lions return CJ Simon (Jr.) at wide receiver and Corey Dean (Sr.) at defensive back.
Both players are capable of making big plays. Look for the Lions to run a spread offense
where they can get guys like Simon or Makai Crenshaw out in space where they can get
one-on-one matchups.
Defensively the Lions return 8 starters to their 3-4 defense. Nick Carden leads the
linebackers, and they love to use him to pressure the quarterback.

VS BIXBY – NOV 3RD

1 Bixby. The Trojans snapped the 58-game winning streak on the road at Bixby, 38-35. A

few weeks later the Spartans returned the favor by knocking the Trojans out of the playoffs,
28-14 on their way to a Class 6AI title.
For the Spartans, it all starts up front with Brody Duffel and Evan McClure. They open the
holes for running back Kordell Gouldsby who is one of the top running backs in the state.
On November 3 rd at Allan Trimble Stadium, the Spartans and Trojan will line up and
determine who will win the district title.
