Jenks’ Brett Keeling – Athlete Spotlight – Presented By RH91- Tucker Tennis Academy

Brett Keeling is an avid tennis player and plays whenever he gets the chance. As a senior at Jenks High School, he is also a member of the Trojan tennis team. And to make sure that he is at the top of his game, he works on his skills at RH91 Tennis Center.

“Training at RH91 has given me lots of help and guidance on how to improve my game,” he said. “Also, having a positive mindset and the belief that I can beat anyone I play against helps me to be the best I can be.”

And that hard work has paid off for Keeling. He has won state the last two years and that has been one of his favorite memories of playing tennis so far.”

Brett says that along with the memories he has made, he has also enjoyed competing alongside his classmates.

“My teammate, Cristian Pensavalle is someone I like to practice against because we have very contradicting styles of play and playing practice matches helps us improve a lot. There is also an opponent that I like to beat the most and that is Reid Rainwater. He is a great competitor and we always have very competitive matches.”

Throughout his life, Brett has had a few people that have been impactful to him, both as an athlete and as a person.

“I think that my parents and coach Matias are the biggest role models for me,” he said. “They both have motivated me throughout my career and given me guidance along the way. In the classroom, it would have to be Mrs. Henry and Mrs. Caruthers. They are both my student council teachers and they have taught me so much that I can implement in the real world. In the last two years of having them, I have become much more confident, comfortable speaking in front of people, and more knowledgeable on how to delegate and become a better leader.”

Along with playing tennis for Jenks, Keeling is the president of the student council, a member of the National Honor Society, and Trojan Link.
