If you’re from the Jenks or Tulsa area, the name Christiansen might sound familiar,
especially if you’ve driven past the Riverside Airport or seen some of the smaller aircrafts
flying around town. Christiansen Aviation was founded in 1972 and is going strong today
with the Christiansen Flight School, leasing, aircraft maintenance, and other operations.
Ayden Christiansen, the grandson of Bill Christiansen who started the family business, is currently a student at Jenks and plays varsity football for the Trojans. While Christiansen enjoys spending time going to the airport and seeing the different airplanes on site and has spent time working at the facility, he also does a bit of his own flying. But for now, it’s primarily on the football field.
“I think my favorite memory would have to be scoring my first varsity touchdown in a big game,” Christiansen said. “Then a few days later being selected by John Holcomb and First Priority Bank as their athlete of the week.”
This year, Christiansen has a few goals he’s working toward by working hard and trying to get better every day.
“My personal goals on the field are to end the season with 500-750 receiving yards and 10 touchdowns,” Christiansen said. “Academically I would like to end the year with straight A’s.”
Off the field, Christian is inspired by his family and turns to them for advice.
“I look up to my Grandpa Bill Christiansen because he started his own business and worked hard his whole life and achieved all his goals,” Christiansen said. “I also look up to my sister Ashton because she is an extremely hard worker and is very independent and stands up for herself.”
Outside of football, academics, and the family business, Christiansen runs track and enjoys fishing.
“I love to fish and go to the lake on weekends,” Christiansen said. “I enjoy track because I’m very competitive and love to compete. As for fishing, I just straight up like to fish.”
After high school Christiansen would like to play football or run track at the next level. He plans on working at Christiansen Aviation over the summer and would like to study architecture or engineering in college.
