Haylie is a student-athlete at Jenks High School and a member of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes.
A lacrosse player and a student athletic trainer, Haylie was named to the 2021 Conference All-Star Team and was the recipient of the 2021 Lady Trojans Lacrosse Leadership Award. This season she was named captain.
“I attended the 2021 FCA national lacrosse camp in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. FCA is important to me because it has given me a community that, like me, values the importance of sports but does not idolize sports. FCA promotes a competitive spirit and values
playing your best for God, not for the world’s approval. As an athlete and most importantly a Christ follower, finding people who play at a highly competitive level but worship God at an even higher level is extremely important to me,” said Haylie. “During the past summer I was exposed to so many talented collegiate athletes who demonstrated a high-performance level, but they also place priority on their faith and commitment to God. This community has given me a culture where I can grow spiritually and athletically. I am planning on going back to the National FCA Lacrosse camp and becoming a huddle leader with the hopes of eventually becoming an intern for FCA lacrosse. I am so grateful for the impact that FCA has made on my life – now and eternally.”
Her faith has been a cornerstone in her life, and she is always eager to talk about what that has meant to her.
“My walk with Christ began when I was six years old. I had listened to a message during Sunday school about the differences in believing in God and giving my life to Him. At that moment I knew that I wanted to follow Christ and surrender my life to Him. I have grown up in a Christ-centered household where faith was always the center of our lives. My parents continue to encourage my sister and me in our faith, guiding us in the right direction. While my parents have helped me to grow and challenge me in my faith, I have made my faith my own,” said Haylie.
