Jace Wright Writes His Name in Jenks History – Presented by Raising Cane’s Chicken Fingers

VYPE: What are your goals for yourself and your team this season?
Jace: My goals for this season are to do anything I can do to help my team win day in and
day out. I am also shooting to hit above .300 on the year and chose the right school for me to continue my academic and baseball career at. My goals for my team are to win our
district and host a regional on our brand-new turf field, and then go back-to-back which
would be the first time it had been done in 13 years.

VYPE: What is the most fun you have had in the last year?
Jace: The most fun, and memorable moment I have had in the last year is definitely dog
piling when we won the state championship. We had talked about dog pilling all year long,
and seeing our dreams become a reality was really something special.

VYPE: Who is your favorite teacher from any grade or coach and why?
Jace: My favorite teacher would have to be my sophomore History teacher Mr. Hubble. He
was awesome, and always made coming to class everyday a great experience. My favorite coach would definitely be my hitting coach Gunner Glad. He’s the best. He has helped me
through so many ups and downs, and every week for the past two years has made me
realize why I love this game.

VYPE: What is your favorite athletic memory?
Jace: You can’t beat winning a state championship for your city for the first time in 20 years. Being a part of that piece of history will never be forgotten.

VYPE: What teammate has left the biggest impression on you and why?
Jace: No doubt our ace from last year Brooks Fowler. He is a true natural leader, and an all around great guy. We still talk baseball with each other on a daily basis. He is still helping me make adjustments with my swing when I might be struggling.

VYPE: Who on your team has the best impression of your coach and who says the
funniest things during games?
Jace: Definitely the man behind the camera Luke Whitten who is one of my good friends
who takes pictures for our team. He can do some pretty great impressions of our coaches. The funniest person during practice is definitely Tanner Primeaux; he is the goofiest 6-foot-6 sophomore you will ever meet. There is never a dull moment with him around, he is always finding a way to lighten the mood with some jokes.

VYPE: You can pick any place for a summer vacation, where do you go and who do
you take with you?
Jace: I would probably pick Mexico. I love the beach. I would bring my whole family, and all
of my friends. It could be my senior retreat with all my good friends.
VYPE: If you had $500 and had to spend it in the next 24 hours, how would you spend
it?

Jace: I would buy a new 2022 Demarini Voodoo bat, and with the leftover money I would
go buy Whataburger, because you can never go wrong with Whataburger.

VYPE: Here is your chance to say hello, goodbye or thank you to anyone you wish.
Jace: Thank you for this great opportunity to be highlighted in this magazine. Thank you,
mom, for being my biggest fan, and always believing in me. Always bet on yourself and
work hard!
